This is part of my Lazy Beauty series. Feeling pretty with minimal effort.
Just call me Elle Woods, but if there's one thing that can cure a bad day, it's a good mani/pedi.
Here in Los Angeles, it's inexpensive enough that I can get them like clockwork every two weeks.
For special occasions or when I need a burst of confidence, I'll put red on my fingers. When I'm feeling moody or edgy, I go for gray or even black.
But for everyday, I stick with a light neutral that won't look obscene when slightly chipped. (Because I'm lazy. And removing nail polish takes at least three minutes.)
My favorites are from Essie. I tend towards Mademoiselle, Ballet Slippers, Real Simple or Cloud Nine. Mademoiselle is the most sheer, Ballet Slippers is the most opaque. I can wear these for almost ten days before I need to remove the color completely. They may chip on the edges, but the light color makes it hardly noticeable.
Most of the time I like to have a color on my toes. Usually red or pink. When I think I'm going to have to go a longer stretch between pedis, I may use the light neutral for my toes, too. Ballet Slippers is the best for this because any other color may be too sheer. And too sheer on your toes looks strange.
These pictures are of a recent mani/pedi with Essie Ballet Slippers. I may be a creature of habit, but I'm always looking for good suggestions.
What are your favorite everyday nail colors?
