In an effort to organize my priorities and achieve certain goals, I'm living my life in increments.
I missed the act of writing in my journal, and I felt like I was missing out on documenting my most personal thoughts during this first year of parenthood. So I decided to write in my journal - no matter how long or short the entry - every day in March.
March came and went, and I didn't make it to every single day but I did well given my travel schedule and general airheaded-ness. I wrote in my journal 19 out of 31 days. I wanted to do better, I did, but some days I plum forgot.
But, as it stands, 19 out of 31 days is a lot better than 1 day out of the month (January & February) or 4 days out of the month (December '09) or even 8 days out of the month (November '09).
I'm definitely more in the groove of writing at the end of the day, and I let myself off the hook if I only write a few sentences instead of long paragraphs. So in the end, I'm glad I did it and I think worked to get my back in journal-writing shape.
