We said Let's not even think about it until the end of the year.
He said Let's just look in the paper and online. That's all.
I said Let's just go to an open house or two. We won't call a realtor or anything.
He said Once we start looking, we'll find something. And we're not ready.
I said It will take us at least a year to find something we like.
We said Well, this one is having an open house in a neighborhood we like. Let's just peek in.
He said This house is old. Too big for us. And it needs a lot of work.
I said Are you still thinking about that house, too?
Our Big News is that we have purchased a new home. From the first time we stepped into the entryway we couldn't get the place out of our heads. We looked in other neighborhoods, at other architectural styles, but we fixated on a 1920's regency style house just one neighborhood over. We fell in love hard. Goners. Against all odds we found our dream home on the first day we ventured out looking.
We closed last week and have about a months worth of work to do before we move. The madness of our cosmetic renovations started this week, and while we couldn't be more thrilled, we have a valid concern that our heads might explode.
We have big plans for this nearly-century-old home and I can't wait to share some of them with you. A pink living room and a navy bedroom is in my future. We're going big.
I hope you like Before & Afters.
