When the movie I was working on wrapped in the middle of 2002, I was a different person than when it had begun. I had been in L.A. a full year and not only had I survived, I had - by complete accident - thrived. I wanted a tangible way for the world to know how much I had changed.
A metamorphosis, if you will.
So I took my All-American blonde locks and dyed them inky black.
Black. Cher-black. Almost blue-black. Vampire-chic, before that was popular.
I don't regret it. I sort of miss it some days. Hair that color with eyes and skin my color was...dramatic. So while I certainly made my point, it wasn't the most flattering style choice I could have made.
Style is a lesson in trial-and-error, if you're willing to suffer through the trial part.
