We didn't have anything else going on last week, so we thought we'd throw a little party.
Today is Pigtail's first birthday, but we wanted to celebrate when all of our family was in town.
It actually helped take our minds off the nervous tension that surrounds a movie's opening weekend.
Because who can think about the box office when this is going on?
I went with a rubber ducky theme, because the pajamas we brought Pigtail home from the hospital in were covered with little yellow duckies and it has been her signature since.
Yellow, orange, and white also happens to be an appropriate October color palette.
I served grilled cheese and also short rib sandwiches from Joan's On Third and they were a (surprise) hit.
I chose grilled cheese because a) it went with my color scheme b) I hate going to children's parties and having the food be too "adult" c) I hate going to children's parties and having the food be too "kiddy" and d) you would be hard-pressed to find a human who doesn't love a gooey grilled cheese sandwich.
In the midst of all the other chaos, it was a day to be remembered.
Always.
