The picture on the left is my very sick child after she dug through the trash and found a cinnamon roll to eat. In pajamas that are too small.
The picture on the right is of sparkly decorations I planned to use for a party that I ended up canceling a few days before the rest of my week tumbled downhill.
I have high hopes for 2011, I really do. But man has it started off...oddly.
On a positive note, many of you commented or emailed me that you were going to give the Life In Increments philosophy a whirl. I hope you do! Let's reconvene next Friday and you can tell me how it worked for you. If you're a blogger, you can link up here but the rest of us can discuss it in the comments of next week's Friday Links. I can't wait to see how you put your timers to use.
Don't forget that next Tuesday, January 11 I'll be giving HH a little facelift to commemorate my one-year blog birthday. Now is the time to let me know if there is anything you hope I would change about my design and layout. Too cluttery? You can't find old posts you like? My font is too small? I'd love to hear from you before I make some changes. I hope you like the reveal!

For your weekend reading pleasure:
The first vintage dress worn by a First Lady to a public event. Mrs. Obama rocks the puffy skirt. (NY Post)
I like lists. They make me feel happy and accomplished. These kind of lists in particular, whether at the end of the year or around a birthday. Or both! 31 Things I Learned In My 31st Year. (Giving Up On Perfect)
You like lists, too? My favorite year-end post. And I read a lot of them. (An Apple A Day)
Regular HH reader Abby has started a new design blog that I love. Isn't it so pretty? (A Delightful Design)
On a similar note, I am completely drawn to the design of this blog. This is how my life looks inside my head, if not here at HH. If I had my handwriting all over my blog journal-style, not a one of you would understand a thing going on. So instead, I'll go stare at A Beautiful Mess.
Here's a great little secret getaway idea if you're anywhere near southern Oklahoma. If you're not in that vicinity, well, this is another good reason to consider visiting. (Psst, while you're over at her site, make sure you check out her new kitchen remodel. Stunning!) (Stacy Nance Interiors)
For organizing junkies, here's a great idea on how to organize all your rewards cards from different stores that clutter up your wallet. (Instructables)
Since I'm not above talking about Christmas cards in January, check out these beauties! Watercolor AND letterpress. Gorgeous! (Oh Happy Day)
If scrapbooking or family photo album-making overwhelms you, I love this idea: Six People Twelve Times. Anyone can manage a single family picture a month. Plop it into a photo book with some jotted down thoughts and you've got yourself some documentation. (Tara Whitney)

We have family visiting this weekend and I'm looking forward to book club.
Happy weekend, HH readers!
