"Mommy Tuesdays" just doesn't have the same ring, does it? Since yesterday's Mommy Monday was having a MLK holiday, here's a little something for the parents and the crafters.
My mom has done some variation of this project with each batch of grandchildren. They're laminated cards with a graphic on one side (in this case, Thomas the Train because my multiple nephews are big, big fans) and a picture of a family member on the other.
For the littler kids, it can just be a way to have family pictures in their orbit (especially hard in our case since we live so far away) and for the bigger kids they can be used to play Memory or whatever card game they make up.
These cards are scattered around my mom's playroom and in her car. All the kids love them! They're super easy to do. Print off the graphic or pictures using your home computer. It's easiest and high quality is not a requirement here. My mom uses a home laminating machine (available at Wal-Mart or here on Amazon) or you can always improvise with clear duct or packing tape. Print on cardstock to skip the lamination step, but know that they won't last as long.
It's a cute, inexpensive way to add personality and familiarity to the playroom.
