This week has been marked by thoughtfulness from others. A sweet letter from one friend, surprise earrings in the mail from another. It's really buoyed my spirits as last week was...not as cheery.
Before she left, my mom made these oversized silver pillows for the playroom from fabric I picked up in New York last Spring. I guess that dinosaur of a sewing machine can really crank out some quality.

Sometimes you stumble upon a blog that hits all the right notes for you. That's how I feel about La La Lovely.
I'm also a big fan of the Oh Joy blog and this week she was on the HGTV show Secrets From A Stylist. Her episode recap is here. The couple doesn't live very far from me, so I watched it with great interest. I was also dying to see that gold and creme wallpaper on the wall once I saw it on the preview. It has been my tentative first choice for my powder room for months now, but I haven't officially pulled the trigger.
This woman will paint your ideal bookshelf. I can't even believe what an awesome idea this is. What a gift! (Please note that *almost* every time I say something would make a great gift, I usually mean that I'm three clicks away from ordering it for myself.) (MIE Likes)
Directly related to our twitter conversation last week, here is a discussion about whether or not to keep track of those who unfollow you. (This would be for the more advanced twitter user.) Lots of opinions in the comments. For the record, I don't follow every single person back, nor do I keep up with who unfollows me. Let's all take a minute to mourn the wonderful series that was Big Love. I cried wet tears when it ended this week. The show was always about the wives, and the ending reflected that. I will miss the entire family, though.
