Remember back in October when The Gorilla put out a little ole movie? That was super fun. What happens after a movie is released in theaters, is that six-ish months later the DVD comes out. So if you're involved in said movie, there might be a whole new round of press and parties.
Last night we attended the DVD release party on the Paramount lot. The infamous Paramount water tower that rises over Hollywood was temporarily taken over by the skull and crutches logo.
You had to walk through port-o-potties to walk the red carpet or to enter the party.
It was our bad luck that the evening turned cold and windy. These are not ideal conditions for an outside event. But there were lots of heat lamps. And it didn't seem to hinder anyone's good time.
There was a giant slide.
And a bungee bouncy trampoline thing.
An inflatable wrecking ball game.
And a DJ flanked by more port-o-potties.
There was this really cool booth were you stood in front of the green screen and then did some sort of action (this guy did a big jump in the air, another guy threw his cowboy hat at the camera) and they superimposed the image with one of the movie sets in the background and made the action into a flip book. (You know, where you flip the pages quickly and it looks like a mini movie?) I wish I had gotten a picture of the flip book, because that was really fun.
There was a zip line.
And sumo wrestling.
Despite the cold, we had a total blast and left the party with DVDs in hand and exhaustion in our bones. What an impressive celebration of a fun movie!
There's more to come next week that I can't wait to tell you about. But in the meantime, if you're curious about the movie or the DVD, click here.
