Welcome to Mommy Mondays, where I dissect the minutia of parenting. One day a week only, folks! Step right up.
Pigtail is 21 months today, so we've fully transitioned from baby stuff to toddler stuff. (We're also eagerly awaiting the day we can stop keeping track of her age in months.) Here are a few of our favorites:
Shoes are a big, big deal to Pigtail. She likes putting them on and taking them off and putting yours on and taking yours off. 'Round and round the shoe train we go. My favorites are the Pediped Grip N Go in Mimi Silver and the Keen Newport H2. Pigtail prefers her good ole Crocs. I think because she can get them on and off herself.
I'm a big fan of the Melissa and Doug products. I'm not sure when I first found them, but suddenly we had several of their products (we especially like the wooden puzzles) and I like them all. A big hit this summer has been the Happy Giddy Tunnel. Hours of fun there, including crawling inside and just...sitting there.
My in-laws purchased a Maclaren Volo Stroller in Hawaii when we went on vacation because I didn't want to lug one on the airplane. It has since moved to its permanent home at the lake (because we needed one there anyway) and I couldn't be happier with how lightweight and easy it is to deal with. It's not sturdy enough to be our main stroller (we prefer the City Mini), but it is a great second option when space is tight or if you do need one for traveling.
In general, it's been a time of "less stuff." As Pigtail gets older, we don't need all those baby items and she's more than content to play with a water hose and a dixie cup.
We're only a few months away from starting over with baby products, however. I'm patting myself on the back for buying so many gender-neutral items the first time around. Nursery furniture, car seat and stroller, swing, they'll all be recycled for Baby #2.
(I can't wait!)
