Friends, I cannot tell you how special your outpouring of love and support and prayers and good wishes has been to our family after the arrival of our son last week. The internet community of bloggers and readers never ceases to amaze me. In the past five days (has it only been five days?!) I have wept with gratitude more than once.
I have yet to weep with exhaustion, but give me just a few more hours.
Our first weekend as a Family of Four including some normal things: napping, cheering on the Sooners, friends dropping by, cinnamon rolls.
And some not normal things: introducing siblings, foggy all-nighters, copious amounts of Advil and laundry, homecooked meals from a very happy Grandmother, and staring.
Staring in wonderment. Staring to make sure he's breathing. Staring in surprise.
The thoughts and emotions that sweep through you during these pivotal days, they're hard to capture. They're fleeting and monumental and ordinary all at once.
Deeply, deeply content.
