We've made an enormous effort towards Pigtail in the last ten days, making sure that she doesn't feel replaced or neglected upon the arrival of baby brother. This includes celebrating her second birthday with great fanfare, both on her actual day (in the middle of the week) and for a very small spur-of-the-moment party (on the weekend).
Cap'n Crunch treats (like Rice Crispy treats, but prettier.)
Owl bookends. Possibly my new favorite thing.
Naturally she wore a ladybug costume and pink cowboy boots.
We had so much food, we forgot to put some of it out. Which is how a good party should be, I suppose, except now we'll be eating on fruit bowls for days. And I don't eat fruit. So...
For being so last minute, it ended up as the perfect day. With close friends and good food and a relaxed, joyous vibe.
We've had a big October. I guess we always will.
These are the days I wish I could live over and over again.

Memory Lane: Pigtail's 1st birthday party last year spawned much discussion about quilts!
