These shoes are just beyond. I've been eyeing them for over a year, but now they are displayed proudly in my closet just waiting for an occasion - any occasion - to be worn. They look black in this picture, but they're actually the most beautiful shade of navy.
Navy is probably my favorite color. Don't tell my mom. Navy is her favorite color. I spent my entire adolescence making fun of her for it.
Navy. Sparkly shoes. It's a mother/daughter kind of thing. Apparently.

For your weekend reading pleasure:
Sometimes I want to write about various pop culture items, but I rarely do. My opinions are usually strong, but I lack the discipline or courage to put them down on paper and release them to the internet. I was proud of my friend Mary Kay for voicing in such a gracious way her thoughts on Michelle Duggar. (MarytheKaytheBlog)
Prepare to see me flat out copy this artsy project. It's my kind of thing in about a hundred ways. (Tater Tots and Jello)
While we're being crafty, I hate to toot my horn but did you see that Mandi from Vintage Revivals listed HH as one of her favorite blogs? I was beside myself. Check out her other picks here, they're all so good. (Vintage Revivals)
In the next few weeks, we're going to be talking a bit more about personal style. While it doesn't 100% apply to me - I'm simply not as minimalist as she is - I loved what Small Notebook had to say about shopping for a comfortably dressy style. (Small Notebook)
This was the best thing I read this week. A suck-in-my-breath piece. When the Words Don't Fit. (NY Times)

We have houseguests for the weekend and, sadly, a going away party to attend. I hope you have lots of fun or lots of nothing planned for the next few days.
