I'm obsessing over my goals for 2012. Whatever energy is not focused on my family's immediate needs goes to lists and musings and daydreamy thoughts about the new year. This is partially symptomatic of putting a long and tough year behind us and starting afresh, but it's also because I have more drive than I've had in a while. I know some people bop around while pregnant and speak of some sort of second trimester boost, but growing, birthing, and feeding a child takes it ALL out of me. My productivity level since last February has been far below average. So now I'm stepping it up and it feels good.
Writing for this blog almost daily has been a discipline in my life that I needed and that has made me a better writer. Even when I'm writing non-writer-y posts, I still have to string together a coherent sentence. And I love that.
In that vein, I want to offer myself as a guest poster on your blog. That is, if you have a blog. And if you take guest posters. You need blog content, I need writing practice, let's be friends!
The catch: you have to give me a prompt. Ask me a question or give me a topic, whatever works best for your internet space. I'll write a 200-500 word post that's all yours. I don't care about the size of your blog, as long as your content is generally PG. I have no idea if this kooky idea will even work! But if you're interested, please email me: housewife (at) hollywood housewife (dot) com with "Guest Post" as the subject line and your prompt in the email.
Fine print: I'll take the first 25 that are applicable, if there are even that many. Turn around will be 2 to 4 weeks. Which means you probably don't want to give me a holiday theme!

This week on the HH Facebook page:
I shared my total outfit fail, but then wait! I made it better. Sort of.
I also told how I got star struck watching a documentary.
"Like" the HH facebook page if you want to talk puppets, too.

For your weekend reading pleasure:
Fun fact: my husband does most of the gift wrapping at Christmas. He's really good at it. Looking for creative ways to wrap the gifts under your tree? This site had fun ideas. (Older and Wisor)
The blog world is so, so vast. I feel like I read a ton of blogs, but frequently I stumble into some sort of subculture that has tons of readers that I'd never heard of. Perfect example: here are the total rock star fashion bloggers. I was unfamiliar with every single one. But now I'm not! (WWD)
Well it's been at least a couple of weeks since I pointed you towards a hair tutorial. I swear (swear!) I'm going to try this one. Soon. The Simple Gibson Tuck. (Simply Stardust)
How darling is this Acrylic Monogram Necklace? I want one. This would make a fabulous gift, too. (Moon and Lola)
Last week I bemoaned my grocery bill. I'm proud to say that when I went to the store this week I was much more deliberate in my shopping. My total at the cash register wasn't smaller, but I felt better about my purchases, meaning they were planned and I think they'll last us longer. It's all still baby steps, but this article on how Shopping for Groceries Online Saves Time, Money, and Hassle was very interesting. (Lifehacker)
