In August, about two months shy of my due date, we decided to change our current girl nursery into a boy nursery, and our current second guest bedroom into a toddler bedroom. You can see what they looked like before.
Both kids rooms have been done for awhile now, but I haven't shared them here yet because it has been hard to get pictures that do them justice. I've finally decided just to throw caution to the wind and show you Pigtail's big girl room.
Ta Da! We love it.
The Gorilla wasn't sold on painting it gray, but adding in all the pink with dashes of yellow has won him over.
We were able to re-use the rug from Dwell Studio, and I had the coordinating shower curtain made into the valance.
The dresser is from Pottery Barn, and the daybed is from West Elm. It's just the perfect size and height for a little person.
The heart duvet cover is from Ikea and the birdhouse sheet set is from Target. They aren't meant to go together at all, but I just love the combo.
The pillows are all from Room Service Home here in LA.
I found the yellow letterpress print on Etsy, and the Mrs. Fox print was a steal at the SCAD store in Savannah.
I loved these elephant hooks from Anthropologie.
I found this pink and orange pom pom scarf on the sale table at Paper Source, and I swear it must have been mis-marked, because I've seen them elsewhere for much more.
This is possibly the only truly finished room in the whole else. Everything else is either constantly evolving or I have big future plans for it. But this room feels settled. Happy just as it is.
The art above the bed is something we did ourselves! I'll post a tutorial about it soon, because it's a great, easy way to have personal and fun art in your house.
The yellow paper framed above the bed is old flocked wallpaper that used to hang in a bathroom at our old house. I bought it on ebay many moons ago. The pink paper was purchased at Paper Source and the frames are from Ikea.
And just because they're always fun to see, here's a Before & After:
They're not from the same angle, but you get the idea. Brown Blah to Current Cute.
It's very Pigtail, and hopefully the style will hold up over the next few years.
Now if we could just get her to actually sleep in the big girl bed...

Unrelated to home decor, but I still want to say:
- I was blown away by your response to my call for guest posts. Your emails blessed me tremendously. I've surpassed the 25 submissions mark, but please still email me if you're interested. I can't promise that I'll get to all of them, but I'm going to try really, really hard.
- One of my very best friends in the world is a singer in Nashville and she is amazing. Highway Angel is a song she wrote to honor truck drivers who have saved lives and performed other extraordinary acts of bravery on the road. Please watch her music video to support this non-profit organization. I'd really appreciate it.
