Welcome to Mommy Mondays, the one day of the week I let myself drone on about my kids.
He turned three months old last week.
He's so quiet, so easy, that sometimes I forget he's in the room. Not to put too fine a point on it, but he's literally the easiest baby I've ever been around.
When we were in Oklahoma, he started sleeping through the night from 11pm to 8am. It was a Christmas miracle! Pigtail didn't sleep that long until she was five months old, so it was a welcome surprise. He did this straight for three weeks, and then when we got back Los Angeles, he started waking up again on some nights. But for the most part, he's an excellent night sleeper and a mediocre daytime sleeper. I'll take it!
Having two kids is different than having one kid. When Pigtail was born, we spent the first three months just staring at her as if she was the most fascinating movie we've ever seen. With Pirate, there is no such luxury. I don't have every millimeter of his face memorized in the same way. But I love the weight of him, his smell, his perfect giggle. After Pigtail goes to bed at 8pm, we have another couple of hours with the baby and that's our most important time of the day.
I feel like I'm just getting to know this guy. He is so mellow, so easy-going, so smiley whenever you smile down at him. Which is often. It's hard not to smile at this face.
