This week I had a chance to meet John Robshaw at a West Week event at the Duralee showroom hosted by HipSwap. I have two John Robshaw blankets that I love for their perfect softness and weight, and his new line of fabrics is just gorgeous.

Remember the bony fingers in vases on my mantle that looked so terrible? Don't worry - they've stayed there for months. Finally this week I decided to spring up the living room a little bit. A little foofy, I get it. But it looks much better, right?
(this is what it looked like before)

As luck would have it, I got to spent most of the day Sunday with Mandi from Vintage Revivals and Jill from Jilly & Mia and we just had the best time. Mandi and I have been online friends for some time now, so it was wonderful to meet in person. She is just as sweet and caring as I knew she would be. Except taller. She's really tall.

For your weekend reading pleasure:
I finally finished the Photoshop Elements online class that I took through Nicole's Classes, and I do want to tell you all about it. But in the meantime, I've used the website Everyday Elements a ton for reference and to answer any of my little questions that have popped up.
I think I haven't told you about my new bleu cheese obsession. It is something we must discuss at a later time. But, I did make steak this week in a new way using this recipe and it was so tasty. I tend to overcook steak, so this pretty much eliminated that. At the end I put bleu cheese on top and it was delicious. I should have let it sit under the broiler for a few seconds, but since I manage to set the food on fire every single time I use the broiler, I decided not to try. I wanted to eat the steak too much. I didn't get to read as much on the internet this week, because I've been crazy busy. But:
Beauty Banter featured me talking about some of my favorite beauty things.
I wrote 10 Things I Wish I Had Known As A First Time Mom for The Life We Love.
One of my dear friends and personal heroes Shauna Niequist listed HH as one of her "daily reads" during a feature over at 31 Bits. I blushed for an hour!

What are your plans for the weekend? I have a dear friend coming to visit for a couple of days and I can't wait to see her.
