I've been in awe of several performances in the last week.
The Gorilla has been shooting one of his shows, and it's always fun to visit the set and watch people do what they do.
We saw Willie Nelson at the Disney Concert Hall (you know that big steel building that's in all the car commericals?) and I cried. Twice. "You Were Always On My Mind" live, will just catch in your throat.
I went to the show Expressing Motherhood here in Hollywood last week and it was so great. There were writers and bloggers and actors and doctors all reading pieces that they wrote about motherhood. They were all different, some funny, some very emotional. But all interesting. I had to leave quickly afterwards, and as I walked to my car on the dark streets, I couldn't help but think about how many fascinating people live in this city that I love.

Thank you all so much for embracing the new! shiny! wonderful! HH facebook page. It's so much better, right? You too can connect with me on FB by clicking here. This week we talked about skincare, snapfish, and a little party I'm throwing in Oklahoma in April.

For your weekend reading pleasure:
When you're surrounded by creative and crazy and independent people on the internet, it's hard to imagine that you've ever had an original thought in your head. And then, when you have an audience - however tiny - you want to be appealing. And it's a vicious, awful cycle because usually - not always, but usually - wanting to be appealing kills creativity. I know this. So does Schmutzie. We Can Become Known. (Schmutzie)
How Not To Hate Being Photographed (xojane)
It was my favorite television show growing up. I could say more, but I won't. The Wonder Years, Involuntary Memory, and Mourning. (Judgemental Observer)
Chookoloonks tweeted that this was the best "about me" photo ever. I agree. (The Spirit of the River)
And I was over at Custom Nursery Art this week, sharing one of the biggest surprises of motherhood. It's a touchy subject, this one, but I know I'm not alone in it.

I'm getting a massage, going to yoga, and working on some house projects this weekend. This is what I consider "down" time before we have two straight weekends of house guests.
Happy weekend, HH readers!
