Carrie and Brendan are college friends of mine. Carrie was in my sorority and they have the sweetest relationship and sweetest love story. After college, we all moved to California and I ended up seeing them more when we lived on the west coast than when we were at OU.
A few years ago, this fun and hilarious couple moved back to our home state and started a family. As long as I have known them both, they have been full of style and ideas. Carrie started a synthetic grass company, Always Greener, and it has taken off. You won't believe the awesome ways people are using this product! Brendan has always been an incredible songwriter and he's found so much success as Spaghetti Eddie. Your little ones (and you!) will love his CDs and DVDs.
So, with that amount of talent between them, you can imagine that they have a great place to live.
My favorite part of their house is that they have all these beautiful little vignettes everywhere. It takes talent to make little details like that, and they fill this house. Original art in the above left picture by Brendan's sister, Caitlin George Parker.
The first time I ever came to their house, the wood paneling (in the picture above and in the picture from the top of this post) was brown. Because they're artsy, it had a cool, retro vibe. But now they've painted it white and it's so much brighter! It changes the space entirely.
I don't have a wide enough lens nor the talent to capture their darling dining room. I love the use of a round table over a round jute rug. There's a starburst mirror of the buffet on the side wall.
That "headboard" is actually a West Elm room divider that was originally brown. They painted it white and hung it on the wall.
Crisp, clean kitchen and a bathroom with vintage wallpaper and original photograph by Greer Inez.
My very favorite room in the house is the nursery. I love it with my whole heart.
Their backyard has the synthetic grass from Always Greener and I was so impressed with it. It looks great and feels great, and is year-round no maintenance.
I admire people who can put together a great space so effortlessly. My own decorating style involves a lot of trial and error, mostly error. So when I'm somewhere like this space, I feel like I can breathe.
Thank you Carrie and Brendan for giving us a peek into your world.
