This is not a coupon blog, and I don't even consider myself that savvy of a shopper. But I do love a good deal, and I think I have a decent eye when it comes to picking through the less-than-glamorous items to find a gem.
Here are a few things I've found lately that I'm swooning over, both in quality and in price.
Let's start with the crown jewel, shall we?
Later I could have kicked myself. I have been looking for something just them for the living room and nice lamps like that usually come with a price tag twice the price (at least). But I didn't even bother going back because I knew something that pretty wouldn't stay on the shelves more than one day.
Weeks later I did I my usual wander through Homegoods and guess what was sitting there? Two of them, pristine and sparkly. Maybe they'd been bought and returned? Maybe the price tag kept shoppers away? I have no idea. But I acted like someone was going to hit me over the head and run away into the night, that's how quickly I snatched them up. And don't they look just perfect in the pink living room?
These topiaries were at Marshalls, and I think I would have walked right past them if I hadn't seen another woman with them in her basket. (Is competitive shopping just human nature? What about coveting the food on someone else's plate?) When I investigated them myself, I could picture five or six places they would bring life to my rooms. At $16 & $24 (there were two sizes), I decided it was worth it. I bought two of each size. Later I saw something similar at Target for $30.
Last but not least, this large oval lime green le creuset was in the clearance aisle for $20. $20! Similar le creuset dishes at Williams-Sonoma are much more, and here is the exact one at Linens-N-Things for $50. The kiwi color is the same as my dutch oven, and it's hard to find. This was a real score for me.
What about you? Scored any great deals lately?
