We just got home from spending a few days at the beach down in Laguna Niquel, where The Gorilla was speaking at a conference.
It's about an hour and a half away from Hollywood, and we were gone roughly 48 hours, but it felt like we took a full on vacation. It reminded us of all the wonderful spots we have within driving distance.

If you were a part of the HH facebook page, you would have had the chance to shoot me questions to ask the professional makeup artist during my Makeup Forever tutorial AND known which item on my Mother's Day gift guide was meant to be a joke.
You can like the HH facebook page here.

My friend Jules Bianchi is the most phenomenal photographer. She takes our yearly family photos, some you've seen here. She has developed a Photography 101 for Moms class specifically designed to teach you how to take better pictures of your kids, and to capture your life through the lens.
As a very special deal, CreativeLive is offering her 3-hour class FREE when you enroll to watch it live. The live viewing is next Thursday, May 10 at 1pm (PST). If that doesn't work for you, you can download the whole thing for $19. This is a great price for an online workshop with such a talented photographer. If you're struggling with the basics of your DSLR, I recommend you check this out.

For your weekend reading pleasure:
The interior of a fabulous home. Okay, I'm biased. I spy a couple of things from my own home also present in hers. And tons of things in her home that I wish were present in mine! (La Dolce Vita)
Painful to read, but important. Disordered Eating: a past, a future, and a compendium of resources. (Pancakes and French Fries)
If you didn't know what I was joking about when I referenced 50 Shades of Grey, well, maybe read this. (Hip Mama B)
I linked to this on twitter, but I cannot get over this awesome playroom project. And can you believe she stenciled that wall?! (I Heart Organizing)
Last week Ali Edwards did her Week In The Life project. I totally spaced and it wasn't a good week for me anyway, so I didn't participate. Then again, when I did it two years ago and made a book, I didn't do it the "official" week. I do hope to do it again sometime in May. Or maybe June. (Ali Edwards)

I hope you have a wonderful spring weekend planned. I'm excited to spend some time with friends and then catch up on all the productivity I missed while we skipped out for a few days.
Happy weekend, HH readers!
