mommy

Mom & laura

I have no recollection of ever calling my mom "mommy."  

Then I had my own kids and my daughter always calls me mommy. I think her little voice directing that title towards me makes my heart ache with the sweetness.

I have a mom, a sister, a mother-in-law, and three sisters-in-law, all mothers.  All but a couple of my closest friends are mothers.  I feel blessed to be surrounded by women who have gone before me on the parenthood journey, or are with me in the trenches.  

I'm celebrating all of us today.  Happy Mother's Day!
