In case you missed it, the big announcement this week was that I am headed to Sri Lanka in August with World Vision. Here's the summary: I'm scared.
Not related at all: We've been back in LA for ten days after being gone for a month. I'm just now settling in and started to breathe again, which feels good. Our kitchen remodel is cranking right along, and I will sing hallelujah when it's done. We are so done with eating peanut butter and fast food.
I haven't been great about posting the remodel pics to facebook, so I'm going to do a little catchup on that this weekend. Those pictures will go exclusively to facebook for now, so if you want to follow along you can "like" the HH facebook page.
For your weekend reading pleasure:
Sometimes I stumble across a blog and it makes me laugh out loud. This one did, and not just because we (sorta) share a last name or because of the outrageous header. (Tidbits from the Tremaynes)
Because what's a Friday without a Pinterest link? Pinterest Tips for the Serious User. (The Martha Project)
Vintage Beauty Ads. (Bella Sugar)
Look, there's always drama in the blogosphere. Most of the time I try to stay blissfully unaware of it. But I fell down the rabbit role of this post explaining some recent (crazy) stuff. (Beta Dad)
Last but not least, my weekly column at allParenting was about Using Rooms to Fit Your Family. Who says you have to use rooms the way the builder intended? Rebel, I say!
We plan to spend some good family time together this weekend and I will be starting the new Tana French novel Broken Harbor, which I've been looking forward to for months. (She's one of my favorite current writers. Check out The Likeness, it's the best of hers so far.)
Happy weekend, HH readers!
