Because twitter knows all, I asked my followers Saturday morning where to find the best pumpkin patch in LA. I got several good answers, but lots of people suggested Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark. Even though it was a good 45 minutes away from Hollywood, we tossed the kids in the car and got on the freeway. (I trust twitter that much, people.)
We were totally unprepared for the awesome-ness. It was super hot this weekend - almost 90 degrees - and of course it was the last weekend before Halloween. So we thought it was going to be crazy crowded. But it wasn't!
We had a total blast of a day. There are tons of things for the kids to do, and about four million photo ops. As far as the pumpkin eye could see, there were strollers and pregnant bellies and DSLRs. So clearly, it was a total family blast.
Pigtail rode a train and a tractor and ran through the labyrinth and jumped in the bounce house. Pirate was a little more mellow. We had lemonade and french fries and listened to the live music and basked in the heat that is SoCal in October.
Thanks to all who suggested it! We will officially make Underwood Family Farms a stop on our family holiday train. Word on the street is that they do a pretty cool Christmas setup, too. Can't wait!
