In August I traveled with World Vision to Sri Lanka to see the work that is being done, funded primarily through child sponsorships. I learned, first and foremost, that sponsoring one child helps the entire community and not just one family.
I visited a village where World Vision had great success, and I visited a village where World Vision had just arrived. I was surprised and impressed by the whole program. I sponsored a child myself. I wrote about how child sponsorship actually works.
Here are eight little boys who live in the area I visited in Sri Lanka where World Vision has just arrived to offer aid. These kids still need sponsorships. Remember that all the registered children receive the benefits from World Vision, not just those who have been sponsored, BUT the entire program relies on these sponsorships to run at all.

If you're nudged at all to get involved with World Vision by sponsoring a child, here are eight options. Because we don't want to crash the system by too many people trying to sponsor the same child, please email me at housewife@hollywoodhousewife.com if you would like to sponsor one of these boys and I will provide you with the correct link to do so.
If you would like to get involved with World Vision, but want to choose from another area of the world, please click here.
From now through the holidays, I'm going to posting different ways to get involved with this program that I believe in. This is the time of year when our hearts open.
