The year isn't quite over yet, but I'm already in a reflective mood. I'm looking back at my favorite stuff of the year, which you can use as a gift guide for others or (better yet!) for yourself.
If you're a regular reader, you've probably already heard me talk about a lot of this stuff. But sometimes it helps to have it all in one place.
Favorite Trend: Patterned Jeans! I know, so 80's. I suspect in just a few years I'll be cringing when I look back at pictures.
Leopard jeans from Target. I'm Instagrammed the heck out of these things. They're surprisingly versatile.
Camo Jeans. Mine are so soft, but I can't seem to find them anywhere online (I bought them at Cusp). These are similar.
Favorite Intimates
Free People lace halter bra. Pretty and comfy and I love the colors. I reach for these intimates more than any others.
Gilly Hicks bras & undies. I feel like the last person on earth to know about Gilly Hicks, but maybe that's just because their clientele averages age fourteen. I don't care, their bra & panty sets are darling, comfy, and inexpensive. They're my new everyday wear.
Favorite Shoes
These are both warm weather styles, but I live in LA.
Michael Kors Xaria. They're in the picture at the top of this post.
Birkenstock Gizeh Birko-Flor. The most suprising pick of the year. I wrote about them here.
Favorite Beauty Products
Nars tinted moisturizer. This is what I throw on daily to even out my skin tone. It gives such a pretty finish, most days I don't wear anything else. It's not oily at all.
Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palette. I love it.
Favorite Entertainment
Homeland. The Gorilla and I just finished season one and we can't stop talking about. We'll call each other in the middle of the day andn talk about it. This is such an excellent show, though it is high stress.
Girls. Easily my favorite new show in a long time. I laughed until tears came down my face. I saved certain episodes so I could watch them again. (Episode 3 is a personal fave.) This is not a show for the easily offended. It's...dirty.
New Girl. For some lighter fun, New Girl is also laugh-out-loud funny. I discovered it on the plane to Sri Lanka and it was the perfect distraction for that long travel time.
I'm not a huge music person. That's not a popular thing to say, and I used to fight it, but I've come to terms with my un-cool-ness in the music department.
But every now and again an album comes along that becomes the soundtrack of your life. Fun. Some Nights is that for me in 2012.
Writing Down the Bones. (I reviewed it here.)
What Remains. (I reviewed it here.)
Gone Girl. (I reviewed it here.)
The Sense of an Ending. (I reviewed it here.)
Honorary Mention: The Paris Wife (I reviewed it here.)
Best tech stuff
Evernote app. I use this every day.
Nikon D7000. I upgraded my camera this year and I am so happy with it.
Amazon Prime. I use this at least once a week.
