We try to take professional family photos at least once a year. Jules Bianchi has been taking our photos since I was pregnant the first time and she always manages to capture us perfectly.
We're really casual about it. We don't wear matching clothes, we don't even wear dressy clothes. I don't want to look too trendy in these photos, I tend to dress kind of plain for them. One session a few years ago we wore our pajamas and made pancakes and just did our normal thing and Jules just shoots around us. I love her style.
This time we had a nice morning at the house and Jules was gracious enough to work around a toddler nap and changing moods. I bribed her with delicious coffee cake.
If it's in your budget, I highly recommend that you try to take high quality family photos every so often. Even as much as I snap photos of my kids, there is nothing that can replace these works of art, especially the ones of all four of us.
Totally worth it. Every time.
