Last week I got to meet and talk to Genevieve Gorder, HGTV star and the face of HP's Wake Up Your Walls campaign.
I told her that my husband had a big crush on her.
It's true, she's one of our favorites. HGTV is on in our house all the time, and Genevieve is definitely The Gorilla's top. You know how sometimes you meet people and you can sense that this is just a job for them, that they're just getting through the event? This is not how I felt chatting with Genevieve. She was warm and kind and funny. We talked about my 1920's home in the hills, where it fit into architecture. We talked about our daughters and remodeling. She couldn't have been nicer.
Maybe I should have told her she was pretty? Nah, the husband-crushes-on-you covers it, I think.

This week on the HH facebook page we talked about apps to make your Instagrams better and I shared the thing that is overwhelming me lately.
This week over at allParenting, I talked about how I have kept a journal my whole life. Now you can keep a journal right on your phone. Or computer. I strongly believe in the therapy of writing your own story.

- I went through a time when I was super obsessed with Jenny Lewis. And then I saw her at the mall and she was by herself and she ordered a lemonade from Hot Dog on a Stick and I thought I might cry with the awesomeness. Anyway, Rilo Kiley is coming out with a B-sides album next month called RKives but there is an original song on it, about LA appropriately enough. Go listen to Let Me Back In.
