But since most of you don't live in the area, I though I'd offer up a few of the smaller items here so you can participate. Remember: ALL PROCEEDS GO TO HELP ONE NOW.
Here's how this works:
1. If you want to buy an item, leave a message in the comments with the name of the item you want and what you'll pay (the items all have a price attached). You must use your valid email address when leaving a comment (it won't post publicly).
2. If you want an item that someone else has already claimed, you're welcome to offer a few bucks more for it by REPLYING TO THEIR COMMENT with the item's name and your price.
3. By Thursday evening I'll invoice each buyer via paypal using the email address you used when you left the comment. You'll have until Sunday to pay the invoice. I'll ship everything out on Monday. US shipping only. THIS IS NOT A TAX DEDUCTIBLE DONATION. I'll write one big check to Help One Now after the garage sale.
4. If something goes unclaimed here, it'll go in the garage sale on Saturday. The books and DVDs have several copies available, so keep that in mind if someone already claimed them.
I wore these Banana Republic wedges only once or twice before I realized that I have almost zero red in my closet. (I have the exact same pair in white that I've worn a lot.) For being a pretty high heel, they're surprisingly comfortable. They're a few years old, similar-ish here. Size 7 1/2.
Baby boy red puffy winter coat, lined in fleece. This is a GREAT coat. But Pirate only got to wear it once when we were traveling. (Not much need for this kind of coat in LA.) Size 12 - 18 months (but runs a little big, in my opinion.)
Books! A hardback copy of Donald Miller's A Million Miles in a Thousand Years, two copies of Sarah Bessey's beautiful Jesus Feminist - SOLD OUT, five three copies of Shauna Niequist's Cold Tangerines and four three copies of her Bittersweet. (What can I say? I'm a certified fangirl.)
Yes, I realize that with shipping these books are the same price as you could get in the store. But this is FOR CHARITY. Plus I'll write you a sweet note.
This is a lovely black silk Calvin Klein dress. You might wonder why this little black dress isn't still in my closet? Well, folks, it no longer fits. Fine, I said it. There is no size tag, but I'm guessing it's a 2. It is silked and not lined, would look best on a thin, straight body. And it has pockets!
This is a heavy knit little girl sweater from Gymboree. Pigtail wore this quite a but (you can see her wearing it here), but it hasn't worn out at all. (Gymboree stuff is made so well, isn't it?) It's a little heavy for our summer climate, but it would work as a summer sweater if you live somewhere it gets chilly in the evening. Size 3T
Here's another Gymboree sweater, this time for boys. Size 2T.
Oh, these Michael Kors wedges were my favorite shoes for awhile. But then my feet mysteriously grew a half size and they didn't fit. The leather is in excellent conditition, but the wood wedge is a little scuffed. But because of the style, it makes them look like the coolest 70's find. I love the gold details, too. Size 7.
We have a LOT of OU stuff. Not sure how well this will sell in LA....Both of my kids wore this sweater. It's really well made and great for winter. In the picture it looks like there's a stain near the hem, but in real life it is super faint, barely visible. I love the little varsity stripes on the sleeve. Size 2T.
I wore this H&M polyester dress to host Rachel's Baby Shower when I was newly pregnant with Pirate and I didn't even know it. I joked that it looked like a retro flight attendant. But I got compliments every time I wore this dress (which is more pink-y orange and not bright orange like it looks in the picture). There's the tiniest snag, which you can see just about the "&" above. It's almost unnoticeable, but I didn't want to cut it. Long sleeves, but still good for spring and summer. Size 6 (runs slightly small).
This is a beautiful never-worn Marc Jacobs shirt for girls. The tag has been torn out, but I'm guessing it's a 2T. There are small buttons on the back that say MJ. Pigtail got it as a gift and it was too small. This is dressy feeling, not a play shirt. It's pretty special, I wish we'd been able to use it!
These are Hanna Andersson (my favorite!) girl pajamas made special for Serena & Lily. You can still see them here. Hanna Andersson jammies are the softest, but Pigtail only wore these a few times. They're a bit more faded in color than it looks here (by design, not because of washings).
This is the big daddy. If you're at a loss on what to get your man for Father's Day, this might be right up his alley. All five of these DVDs, signed with a personal note from the producer/director/creator, our very own Gorilla. You can have the note be made out to whoever you want.
I don't usually put his stuff here on the blog, but this is for charity. I'll do anything to let those kids have a better life.
Can't get enough? Now there's a ROUND 2 of the sale!
