Yesterday I showed you the dismal, dreary kitchen of yesteryear.
I will spare you the five months of construction pictures, and simply present you with the bright, beautiful, life-changing kitchen transformation:
You're gasping, right? You're practically applauding the screen? (Please tell me you are, because with all the dollars and time spent, I want to give the room a standing ovation EVERY DAY.)
Here's the view from the other corner, looking into the dining room. Notice the microwave is in the island. This was not my first choice, but it made the most sense. My mom hates it. I've gotten used to it, but agree that it is not ideal.
You can see now why I don't mind standing at the sink. (Please disregard how these pictures are from various stages of "lived-in.")
Where there once was a dated yellow bathroom, now there is a new hallway to the art room, and my coveted built-in china cabinet. And disco ball light fixture.
And across from the china cabinet is a new bathroom. With new flocked wallpaper!
I'm standing in the bathtub for this shot. The toilet is directly across from the sink. The red flocked wallpaper is not to everyone's taste, this I know. But it's easily replaceable and the tilework is really nice and fairly neutral.
And here is how it all flows with the dining room.
Let's review.
This to That:
It's not even recognizable as the same space. Thank goodness!
I could wax on about how the kitchen remodel changed the way we lived in the house and bought us several extra years of living here. But I won't. I think you get it by looking.
Change your kitchen, change your life.
