It started with a tweet.
Well, to be fair, it started with my husband's obsession with fish, which led to his marathon viewing of the Animal Planet show Tanked which in turn meant he wore me down for months about getting a fish tank.
I wasn't on board, obviously. I couldn't think of a single corner in our home that would (appropriately) accommodate a fish tank, nor did I desire to deal with the upkeep.
Then one night on our way to dinner, a detour landed me in the thousandth exotic fish store of the month. Bored, I lazily took a picture of an angel fish and tweeted it out, along with my husband's love for Tanked.
By 7am the next morning, I had an email from the producers. They were familiar with The Gorilla, they wanted to know if he really was interested in having a fish tank.
I'll save you the weeks and weeks of things that followed, and just tell you that the past five days have been full of cameras and drilling and humming and salt water.
We had lots of friends over for the reveal, so that made it even more fun. It was like a fish party! Only the fish never leave.
These baggies have fish in them. Don't worry, they're only like that for transport.
The Gorilla and I managed to stay out of the room until the (huge, large, oversized) tank was done, and yesterday we had the grand reveal. It was worth the wait. Even I, who never wanted the tank in the first place, am impressed. It's a work of art.
It's also huge. I've lived in apartments smaller than this tank.
I can't show it to you, though. That's just the blogger I am - telling you that this went down, but not showing you anything. You'll just have to take my word for it. When the episode airs in a few months, I'll show you everything and give you lots more details.
But for now, just know it's been a crazy few days.
